The Velo-city conference is heading to Rimini (Italy) from 16-19 June 2026, and we are happy to remind you that the academic call for abstracts is open until 31 October! In this call, we invite students and researchers to share their insights, ideas, data and analyses and bring an academic perspective to this year’s main theme “Delivering the Urban Dream.”

Present your academic work at Velo-city 2026 !

Eshaping cities to improve quality of life and to strengthen climate resilience is daunting. It calls for political leadership to engage directly with people and businesses to ensure creating and owning a shared vision of the future, backed by sound evidence, extensive strategic plans, integrated policies, effective governance, long-term commitment, and funding. The results are spectacular transformations: beautiful and vibrant public spaces for people, healthy lifestyles, better quality of life, good vibes, and a comprehensive network of sustainable urban transport solutions. The strength lies in the delivery. Making the urban dream come true – from research-backed visions to action.

The City of Rimini is a shining example — it has reimagined itself from car-centric to a place for people through continuous urban regeneration and the steady growth of its cycling network.

Mais l’expérience cycliste contribue aussi au renforcement des capacités d’adaptation aux aléas de la vie. Un livre plein de richesses qui laisse en suspend une partie de ses questions.
